Afterworld on Hiatus

Since I don't know if a full LOA is coming or not, I'm at least getting this out here.

I'm going through something pretty major right now in my life, and I seriously doubt that my focus will be anywhere close to stable enough to try to do much of anything, much less try to keep up with an RP.

I still fully intend to continue this when I can, but I really need to deal with this right now.

Essentially, writting a pre story about the characters we would use in the story a little before the story/intro we used just before they died...

I figured, that way we could keep interest in the rp, without going forward without Tess...

Of course, we can't be writing anything that'll drastically change anything about our characters in the future when afterworld happens so we don't have any huge conflicts with character or our RP cards/etc. But I assume that's already been taken into consideration as a general rule. :P

I guess that ideas is not go, unless we want to do it ourselves anyway. What do you guys think?

I'm still more or less holding my life together at the moment, but I'm going to make a serious attempt to get back to this some time this week.

If you guys want to do backstories before continuing with the main RP, we can do that first, otherwise, I'll work on getting the next post completed so that we can get back to the main story.

But, I've been trying to force myself to get an hour of writing in every day, so I can at least make the attempt if we're trying to restart this.

Indeed not, although Adam took over Peter's/Sora's character, it was after you that he posted in the new lineup, so it is still effectively your turn.

EDIT: Plus I had asked Adam if he wanted to go first before I asked you, anyway, and he said you could do it, so pretty much all that hazy order operation we did before is basically now in stone.

Okay, I'm a ways into my RP, I've decided to merge my backstory and next RP into a single post; a flashback of sorts as Jake (I was using Jake, right? I need to double check before I post, haha) tries to get a grip on the situation.

Something I wanted to bring up that I had talked to Smash about...

I was thinking of trying to incorporate equipment into the RP. Basically, throughout the story, the characters could run across items with specific benifits to one of the characters.

Here's kind of how I was thinking it'd break down.

Each character would have three equipment "slots". Most of the characters would probably have a Weapon, Armor, and Accessory "slot" in which you could equip found items. These would be the "standard" ones, but obviously we could tailor them to specific characters, for instance, where Tadao would probably have direct weapons such as swords that give straight strength increases, Tea would most likely have cards, which would increase abilities in a much more indirect fashion.

Weapons would obviously usually just increase strength by a little, though they may have other benifits too, such as adding a specific elemental attribute to the character's attack, or possibly giving them more range than they would have had previously.

Armor is also fairly obvious as far as its effects, geared more towards increasing defense, but may offer specific protections and possibly other alternate effects as well.

Accessories would likely either be very generic and weak, and universally equippable (or at least equippable by several specific characters), or be specific and stronger, but be designed for a specific character's use.

Obviously, we'd want to avoid overpowering, and so we'd probably have to get the items okayed by everyone before we throw them in, but I think it makes the RP more interesting, and can lend a lot to the story in some cases.

On a side note, though we can all create items for our own characters, I'm leaning towards the idea that Smash had, in that the majority of the stronger character-specific items will not be actually picked up by those characters, but by others, and so some kind of interaction has to take place for a character to obtain stronger equipment.

None of this is set in stone or anything, just throwing the idea out there to see if anyone likes it.

They don't have to be the generic set up for every character, if it fits your character better to have two accessory and one clothing slot (which is essentially what Tea would wind up with as well), then so long as things stay more or less balanced, we'll work it into it.

( where it has an ability, and others as well - but they have to be undestood and discovered ), so I hope I didn't jump too much with that...

I recently made a few minor adjustments to my card adding some minor more details on my weapon...
