Eagan police are urging citizens to be cautious in parking lots after three indecent exposure cases were reported in one night.

The department is adding extra patrols in the areas the incidents occurred on Jan. 19, Eagan officer Jennifer Ruby said Monday.

The first two incidents occurred in the parking lot of Eagan High School, 4185 Braddock Trail, about 6:30 p.m.

The first victim, a 17-year-old girl, was in her car when a man approached and began masturbating. She quickly left the parking lot and didn't have contact with the man, said police. In the same parking lot shortly after that, a man offered money to an 18-year-old girl to watch him masturbate. She got in her car and left.

The suspect was described as white and in his early to mid-30s with an average build. He was wearing a dark jacket, blue jeans and a stocking cap.

About 20 minutes later, a man exposed himself to a 17-year-old girl in the parking lot of an Eagan apartment building at 1375 High Site Drive —about three miles northwest of the high school. The girl was in her car when the man approached and used her cell phone to call her boyfriend, who lives in the building. The boyfriend ran down to the parking lot with a golf club and chased the man around the building, said Ruby. The boyfriend slipped during the chase, and the suspect escaped.

In the third incident, the suspect is described as white, about 6 feet 2 inches tall with a medium build and dark clothing.

Ruby said the same man is believed responsible in the first two incidents, and it's "a strong possibility" he is responsible for the third case.

"He hasn't acted out violently at this point," said Ruby, but the police urge citizens to be cautious in parking lots at night.

Ruby asked anyone with information to contact the Eagan police at 651-675-5700.
