RELIVE WWII’S MOST HEROIC MOMENTS WITH EA’S MEDAL OF HONOR VANGUARD
Acclaimed World War II First Person Shooter Franchise Debuts on Wii Platform
REDWOOD CITY, Calif., December 19, 2006 – Electronic Arts (NASDAQ: ERTS) today announced Medal of Honor Vanguard™, the latest installment from EA’s critically-acclaimed Medal of Honor™ franchise which has been credited with pioneering the First-Person Shooter (FPS) WWII genre when it debuted in 1999. Building on the key tenets of the franchise including historical accuracy and authenticity, Medal of Honor Vanguard will ship to stores in March 2007 under the EA™ brand for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system, as well as the Nintendo Wii™.
Step into the boots of Frank Keegan, Corporal of the 82nd Airborne Division and engage in battles throughout Europe. From Operation Husky on the shores of Sicily to Operation Varsity inside Nazi Germany, you’ll fight behind enemy lines in the epic WWII battles that turned America’s first paratroopers into heroes of WWII. Featuring spectacular graphics adding to epic combat intensity, Medal of Honor Vanguard makes you the driving force in the struggle to liberate Europe. As the first game in the Medal of Honor series to be released on the Nintendo Wii platform, players can expect Medal of Honor Vanguard to take full advantage of Wii’s one-of-a-kind controllers.
“Medal of Honor Vanguard features a strong storyline told in classic MOH fashion," explained Matt Sentell, Senior Producer at EALA. “We are really excited to offer this game both on the PS2 and Wii, which will allow fans to experience MOH in a completely new way.”
Developed by EA Los Angeles (EALA), Medal of Honor Vanguard has not yet been rated by the ESRB. December 19, 2006 - When it was announced last summer that Electronic Arts was bringing Medal of Honor to the Wii, many assumed it would be a port of the forthcoming MOH: Airborne, which is debuting on every other system next year. Not so, apparently, as today EA announced the Wii's MOH title will be called Medal of Honor Vanguard.
Vanguard drops you into the boots of Frank Keegan, Corporal of the 82nd Airborne Division. Players can expect classic, FPS gameplay in a WWII setting with the addition of a control scheme tailored to the Wii (although the title is also coming to the PlayStation 2).

December 19, 2006 - Early last year Electronic Arts announced a new game in the Medal of Honor series called MOH: Airborne. The game was tentatively scheduled to ship across all platforms, but the PlayStation 2 version may be up in the air. An entirely new Medal of Honor game was announced today: Medal of Honor Vanguard.
Vanguard drops you into the boots of Frank Keegan, Corporal of the 82nd Airborne Division. Players can expect classic, FPS gameplay in a WWII setting. The game is also coming to the Wii with a control scheme designed to take full advantage of the Wiimote.

It would be a little out of the ordinary for EA to announce a new Medal of Honor game before the next in the series is even out, so Airborne may not end up making an appearance on the PS2. Regardless, fans still have at least one new MOH game to look forward to.
