Since Lathan has graced us with the topic of God and Belief, I was wondering if any of you believe in Miracles. Have you ever witnessed one? Does your faith fall apart when you need one and it doesn't happen? Have you ever asked for one?

To put my two cents worth in, I would have to say that it is subjective for me. My father was really sick a few months ago and I prayed to God to not take him away from me. He has since made a full recovery. So you see I trusted in God, but did he do it or did my father do it with his own will and strength to live? I don't know. They have been some real stupid Miracles I have asked for, like my favorite team to win the game or that I win the Lottery. I really need to believe in Miracles, because I have friends and family in harms way in Iraq. So I'll pray for their safe return, believeing in their strength and my own Faith.

I don't necessarily believe in "miracles", but I do believe that some things can beat the odds and happen anyway no matter how unlikely it is. I think there is a higher power, but I don't think that it interviens in human affairs.

I'm with Lathatn on this one, you can beat chance and call it a miracle but no higher power is going to alter events. I'm sure that there is a logical explination for all miracles.

my mom was very sick for 4 years, the doc's didnt know what was wrong, they told her she had every kind of sickness by the time it was done, they also didnt think she would live, she fasted (stoped eating food) and prayed, for 40 days she did not eat a thing, and when it was all done, the was fully recovered!

so yes. miracles happen, many things in my life have shown me that they do...

Sometimes i think it a miracle i ever got through school, considering how bad it was for several years.

As for regular miracles, I do beleive in them. I've never actually witnessed a miracle, but my dad has. He's a pretty religious guy, even if he doesn't always seem like it. And idgaf, there are lots of things in the world that have no logical explanation. I beleive in God, or at least a higher power, but I also agree that He generally doesn't intervene in mortal affairs. He helps out here and there w/ little things, but doesn't do anything large. That's why you hear about small miracles here and there, but not some huge miracle that affects the whole world.

I begged god for something once. And it happened. I don't know if he/her/they played a part in it...But it worked out the way I wanted.

I'm crying just thinking about it. It made me happy and it wasn't like "I need an A on a test."
I begged for someone dear to me to live...I begged for them not to leave me. And I don't really need to tell you who that person was. The fact that I came so close to lose him...It isn't worth thinking about.

Kinda, but not really..

Nothing like that has ever happened for me...
