FF Crash course

OKay, I need a crash course on FF... I have played the original and I think IX (is that the one with the character Cloud).. but could someone PLEASE help me! Like who are the advent children. And the difference between X2 and 12.. that would be really great. :D

the difference between 10-2 and 12 is 10-2 is the sequel to 10 and 12 isnt lol if you want to learn more about ff i suggest playing them all lol and the one with cloud is ff7 silly :P

Cloud = protagonist of FF7, Advent Children = sequel of FF7 in dvd form. The basic storyline is Clons of Sephiroth (the main evil dude) has sprung up again for an unknown reason and those who fought against him battle him again.

X-2 is a sequel to X so the difference is the story, characters an gameplay. XII is set in Ivalice and follows a completely different storyline, with different characters, enemies, gameplay etc etc.

So to wrap up a few things:

FF1-6 are single story games, each game follows its own story with its own characters, names are repeated but ultimately each is different. 8, 9 & 11 also fit into that category yet 11 is purely online with some offline aspects. 7 and X have sequels either planned or already out. There are extra games also in CC mq and the legends on various patforms also.

not even cool man...but simple thing to know any FF has nothing to do with the one that came before it. except FFX and FFX-2

oh... and starting with the older ones IMO is the best way to go.. but some say FF7 is a good starter, i wouldnt start there, mind you

and i know you hve played, but if your going to play mores go old!!! ^_^

i would do the same as well, start with the old and get a good feel of that then bust into the new school with 7 thats were it starts

ya knwo i just heard that they will only be taking things from Ivalice like races, judges and stuff but tis gonna be based again elsewhere. Viera and Bangaa are playable races, or well could be. Its still speculation. :bdkcecil

FFTA wasnt too bad after all they could have made it a bit more enjoyable i agree. i guess im just not too big on that whole tactical side of FF

hmm.... maybe they've changed it since the last time I read anything about it, because I thought it said that it would be in Ivalice.

It has nothing to do with FFTA, just the same world and races.

:hmm that's not what I'm talking about. I know that it doesn't take place in FFT or FFTA's Ivalice. I just read that the world's name is Ivalice.
