For all you Kingdom Hearts fans...
Disney wants Kingdom Hearts III (http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=69318)

Kingdom Hearts producer Tetsuya Nomura claims that Disney's already clamouring for Square Enix to do a third in the cross-over RPG series.
Speaking to Dengeki PlayStation in an interview partially translated by IGN (http://uk.ps2.ign.com/articles/742/742527p1.html?RSSwhen2006-10-30_104400&RSSid=742527), Nomura says Squenix has "already been approached by the Disney side saying that they want us to make it".
But whether that'll happen is something he can't predict at the moment, with the team's schedule full up with the likes of Final Fantasy Versus XIII. "We have various ideas, but we're not at the point where we can say [we'll do it]," Nomura admits, adding that the hectic schedule means "it's physically impossible at the present".
The Kingdom Hearts team is currently working on the Japanese "Final Mix" edition of the sequel, which recently came out in Europe and won critical acclaim (http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=68539) in most quarters.

cool, maybe it'll give me time to actually get KH2 and beat it before another comes out.

Yes, Disney just can't get enough money from defiling previous stories, can they? I hope it remains permanantly impossible.

Not a fan of the KH games, but still an interesting read none the less. Wonder if Disney would ever try going solo...and making an RPG by themselves?

I've been quite skeptical about this third installment of KH: I don't know if it should ever be done at all. I mean, KH2 didn't leave any bread crumbs for KH3 to pick up...
That's it exactly. Disney doesnt care if the story is finished, they just want profit, no matter how badly defiled the story winds up.
And I did like Disney's earlier movies as a kid, but they changed.

Serious question here: have you actually played the games?

No. I hear the battle system is excellent, but I can't stand the idea of trying to tie all those different worlds together.

I could see Disney persuading SE to license the franchise (with use of their characters) to another developer. I'm sure Disney will start throwing big amounts of money at them soon for a new KH game and given their current situation that's pretty much the only way to get one made soon.
It isn't like it'd be a bad thing either. SE doesn't have to make it as long as some of the key people involved in KH are there with the other developer that cranks it out. It'd be the same as what Nintendo does with the portable Zelda games, Starfox, and Metroid (with Capcom, Namco, and Retro respectively).

Then don't make comments like "Oh, Disney doesn't care about the story and crap" unless you've actually TRIED it =/
You really should try them, if only to stop you from bitching and bashing them whenever possible just because your bias towards Disney stops you from being rational.

That wasnt what I meant. I meant they disregard the stories that have already been set out and mangle those stories while trying to make an additonal profit. I firmly believe that when a story is done and all the characters are dead or have no reason to continue being story-like that they should be left as is.

While I like the idea of playing a brand new KH game, I don't know what they could do with it. The first two games had great stories, full of twists and turns and it kept me immersed from start to finish. But there's not really anywhere left to go, besides the fact that at the end of KHII they got a letter from the King. For all we know, it could just say "thanks for your help, there won't be a Kingdom Hearts III because you did everything in the other games" or something like that. As good as it sounds to just say "Kingdom Hearts III" I dunno if I'd actually want another one.

Well, one of the premises of KH is that each of the worlds is interrupted by the events of the game. Due to the bad guy's conspiring, you end up getting involved in the events on each world.
And there isn't all that many inter-world connections, besides your party being the common thread. At least in KH1 (I havent played 2, so Sora'll have to cover that one).

That's not as bad as I thought it was. I was picturing all of them gathering together in one world.
Doesn't change my opinion enough to get me to buy it though. I have a long lasting grudge against Winnie the Pooh, and the hell if I'm saving his ass.

Fuck you. Winnie the Pooh = rocks. *kicks you*
As for the worlds, there really isnt much interworld connections at ALL. In 1 at least, the other characters who join you on various worlds are only present in that world. You can't use them anywhere else.
And in 1, Winnie the Pooh is just a sidequest at best >.>

Yup. I'm with you there.

Anyone who says that Yvl is wrong with that...You're too much of a Disney lover!!
I adore Disney but Yvl is so right, it's not even funny.
I mean, they slaughter all their awesome films with cruddy sequals that make no sense, have REALLY BAD animation and not to mention...Just plain awful music. I've never seen so much rubbish in all my life...They've just kinda...Sold out. They're out their for the money and nothing else...It's not about breath-taking movies and capturing the hearts of people all over the world anymore...It's moneymoneymoney and it's quite a shame, too.
(I've seen pretty much all their sequals to "classics" and I've only seen 2 so far that were actually worth my time.)
As for Winnie The Pooh...You don't even have to do that, not from what I can remember anyways...If you want to do everything then you should. All you do is wander around. It's quite cute though...Pooh is too adorable for words.

It isn't that I (or possibly anyone) disagreed with Yvl on Disney stuff usually being crap, but his comment towards Disney has no relevance to the quality of the KH series, as they both are excellent games, not "crappy" in any sense of the word. As Sora has said before, KH actually makes Disney cool, even if it's only for the duration of the game.
Disney provided the majority of worlds, themes, and characters, but its Squenix that wove it all together into a game.

I only scanned through o.O So that post wasn't actually aimed at anyone...I just wanted to mention.
I only played KH and I thought that was pure awesomenuss. I was one of the members who yelled at peoples for saying that Disney is not kool >.> So sorry if anyone got the wrong end of that.
And it was just that one thing I quoted, not everything Yvl said...I just agreed with that. Because...Well...It's true.
I really like Disney O_O I thought I made that clear. I wasn't attacking them out right...But they do just care about money these-days.
I'm going to be quiet because I'm having one of those days where everything I say just makes no sense at all.
I'm sorry if I made it sound like I didn't like them...Kingdom Hearts is one of my favorite games...Not to mention I just LOVE Disney. But I didn't aim to go for shooting down the games or Disney...But to say "They aren't in it just for the money." would be a lie and I wasn't about to do that. It's sad but it's true.

You're right, I probably shouldn't have. I still dislike the concept behind the game, but now that I know more about it, I don't despise it anymore.
Anyway, I'm still hoping that they end the series with II. If it is as closed as you all have said, then it would indeed be very disney-ish for them to want to keep pressing on.
Or they could, as I think someone else said, go to another company. Oh god, if they combined Zelda with KH... the fans...

And, even if Nomura has a storyline for KH3, Disney shouldn't rush him.
I agree. Most of the time when a game is rushed, it ends up feeling half assed and uninspired. I'm glad that Nomura isn't just jumping at the opportunity.
Anyway I haven't played the second one yet but I plan to eventually.

KH without Disney isn't the same. No, Sora and company should never be blended outside the Disney realm.
SE is the company not as willing to make KH3. I never said anything about Disney dropping out.
they should be thinking about which Disney worlds to add, since Disney hasn't made that many movies that can be used in KH.
That's because the last 5 movies or so Disney made were about animals escaping a farm or something.

I totally dig a Toy Story inspired world in KH.
LMAO! Awesome! I can see it now!
*Woody's string gets pulled*
"There's a snake in my boot!"
Goofy: Gawrsh, maybe we oughta help him?
Sora: I dunno....
Donald: *hits Woody with lightning*
Hehehe...
To Yvl: About the battle system: If you're a fan of bashing things, go with 2, and if you prefer magic, go with 1. That's my advice for if you ever decide to try them.
