Fav Lead Character (old school)

I like Cecil the most of the lead characters, for two reasons. One, having a dark knight/paladin/half moon man :D as a lead character was a rarity even then, and Two, I like the contrast and conflict in him. It's a shame FF4 didn't give more in-depth backgrounds to everyone.

Cecil

I loved him (platonically, lol). He starts out as a badass dark knight, then becomes a paladin. But the best part is he never gets whiny, or depressed. As a DK, he doesnt go around saying "Oh, woe is me, i'll never be a hero". And, when he learns he must give up the dark blade to defeat Golbez, he goes straight to Mt. Ordeals and compelts his task. He deosnt while and say "oh, i dont think i can do this...", he just goes and does it. And, late in the game, he never has a breakdown where he all but gives up either. He's gung-ho pretty much the whole way.

Pssh.. to me a 'Lead Character' is pretty much the one that is the 'Main Character' in the game. Also the first on you use throughout the entire game.

Tossup between Cecil and Terra. Cecil has that cool Dark Knight/Paladin/Halfling thing going, and Terra's a halfling with some serious pwnage skills.

Terra and Celes are kind of the lead characters. FF6 is one of the only games where every character has a very detailed position in the story.

Yes, but my point is, FF6 has no actual "main lead character". Terra, Locke, Celes, all 3 have major parts in the story, but none of them is the sole lead character.

Setzer, Edgar, and Sabin also have equally big parts in the storyline.

yeah Lades, But...think past FF6 a min' ... alot of the older games have main characters that you have to name your self, like FF5..good story..but the main guy (in my game) is named Laggy... i'd rather everyone name off there fav' FF6 char' then to name the lead guy form a game who they had to name there slef and we'er all "WTF" who?..:D

=/ not on mine, could be a glitch but when i restarted, it asked me to name him, and there was no name already there...and it wouldnt let me just go without putting in a name,...

Yeah they don't give you the name at the beginning but I think it's Bartz. It was Butz in Japan and they changed it for obvious reasons...lol (even thought it's actually pronouced "Boots")

i think i remember that now... but FF5 is one of the games i only got the chance to get afetr it came out again so.. he wasnt bartz for me =/ he was whatever i called him

first thing i ever named him was "Fighter" lol

doesnt seem like the right name for a character thats saving the world, to me anyway

and you know, FF6 and FF1 and such, they might not have a charaxter that would go into a book as "main" or "leading" character... but in any game i play, and many others..they pic a fav' character and play with that character more then others (when you can) or like that char' more..so IMO its up to the player at hand on rather or not there main characters or not :)

Considering Cecil is in your party 99% of the time (excluding event fights) and Edgar is the member that's in your overall party most of the time in FFVI while his role is insignificant... yeah, I wouldnt say that so much...

But I really like Ceres better, just because she's pretty :P
