Man's Head Explodes!

Gutland, Alabama (AP)--- During the finals of the Alabama State Crossword Puzzle Championship held annually in Gutland, a man's head literally exploded! Each of the finalists had just received the same crossword puzzle on which to work. And, of course, the first one to finish, with no mistakes, would have been declared the winner.
What follows is nothing less than bizarre. According to Yuri Shetting, a contest judge, one of the contestants (pointing to the back of the area where the contestants had been seated) asked if she could be excused from the contest. As she indicated, "I went over to inquire as to why the young lady wanted to get up and leave...... and she told me that an odd smell was beginning to make her sick, so I asked if she would like to move to a different chair. Consequently, I seated her on the other side of the room so she could continue working on her puzzle.
Then just a few minutes later, another contestant in the same area asked for some assistance indicating that she felt 'weird' like something 'wasn't quite right,' and then right at that very moment, as I was standing there, the young man who was sitting right next to her............. well his head just simply exploded! I mean there was this loud bang..... and brains just went all over the place! I looked up and 'he had no head.' There was simply a torso..... and no head. And everyone began to scream and a whole bunch of the contestants began to vomit...... It was an absolutely horrible sight. Eventually, in due time, everyone was given an opportunity to clean themselves up. Then, after having been interviewed by the police, everybody was told they could leave and go home. Believe me, it was the most terrible thing I have ever seen in my entire life!"
Authorities apparently have no idea as to how the man's head could have exploded like it did. However, Alabama State Troopers are investigating, and attempting to find out what could have gone wrong. Later, The State Department of Mental Health indicated that the state would arrange for everyone to have the opportunity to meet with a counsellor in order to deal with the terrible ordeal. The name of the young man whose head exploded is being withheld until the next of kin have been properly notified.
