While innovations in computer hardware constantly occur as companies strive to grab market share, breakthroughs such as these are rare. The addition of laser capabilities to new processors would allow for a currently unreachable standard of compactness and speed in computing.
imagine if you will reaching Terahertz in speeds in stead of gigahertz! No longer have the problems with things getting way to hot. gaming computers reaching new hieghts!

and spell checkers which automatically fixes typos! :P
wasnt there also something to do with lasers and hdds a while back regarding increasing the size of the space and its retrieval time while making hdds actually smaller?

screw your spell checker! I remember IBM back in the mid 90's talking about using lasers on a crystal cube to store data. It was quite amazing, unfortunatly the machine itself was quite large.

screw your spell checker! I remember IBM back in the mid 90's talking about using lasers on a crystal cube to store data. It was quite amazing, unfortunatly the machine itself was quite large.
That was probably the thing im thinking of, didnt that die in the ass!
