Yesterday we brought you some details (http://www.joystiq.com/2006/09/06/devil-may-cry-4-information-leaked-a-tad-early/) on the PlayStation 3 debut of Devil May Cry. Now, we bring you the news that Capcom is planning to deliver this successful franchise to the PSP. CVG has noticed (http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=145712?cid=OTC-RSS&attr=CVG-General-RSS) that on the Japanese site (http://www.capcom.co.jp/) for Capcom, there is a note about bringing Dante and company to Sony's little handheld.
The only information given is that the game will be in the "stylish action" genre of gameplay. Tomorrow, the countdown (http://www.capcom.co.jp/devil4/) on the DMC teaser site ends, so maybe we'll get more info by then. But, until that time, feel free to speculate.

Thursday 7-Sep-2006 12:38 PM Dante is unsheathing his sword and heading for a PSP slash-em-up, Capcom reveals
With the first Devil May Cry 4 info starting to trickle out of Capcom's Japanese fortress, Dante and his slash 'em-up action series are hot in our minds at the moment. But, thanks to a note on the company's Japanese website, it looks like the half-devil hero isn't just heading for the PS3, but Sony's slick PSP as well.
Unfortunately, the only info the listing offers about Devil May Cry's PSP debut is that it will be of the "stylish action" genre, which presumably means it won't turn out to be a Metal Gear Acid-style Dante card game, but something a bit more familiar to the console slash-em-ups we're used to - maybe even a port of one of the PS2 version of the game, which we'd be happy to replay on the tube with the aid of our PSPs.
Perhaps, with the official Devil May Cry 4 website due to open tomorrow, we'll get a bit more of a hard confirmation on the title, along with some gameplay info if we're really, really lucky. But with TGS only a few weeks away, it's likely that we won't have to wait long until we get our first glimpse of Dante hacking and slashing on the PSP. Stay tuned for more DMC love.

Devil May Cry Series (working title) is an upcoming installment to the Capcom horror-action series Devil May Cry which is scheduled to be released on the Sony PlayStation Portable handheld video game console. No release date(s) have been officially announced, although it has been rumoured to to be released sometime in 2006 for North America. It is noteworthy that hardly much information has been released regarding the title, even leading some to speculate that it had been canceled. However, according to the official Capcom Japan PSP release schedule (http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=ja&u=http://www.capcom.co.jp/&sa=X&oi=translate&resnum=2&ct=result&prev=/search%3Fq%3DCapcom%2BJapan%26 hl%3Den%26lr%3D), the game, titled as Devil May Cry Series, is still listed as under development with the official release date, sale price, and title to be decided.
Known details
As of June 2006, not much information is available regarding the PlayStation Portable release in the Devil May Cry series. Although some sources have stated that the game will once again feature Dante as the main protagonist, it has been rumoured that players will be playing as a different character. Capcom has supposedly hinted at the possibility of playing as Trish, who previously appeared in Devil May Cry. However, other candidates has also been mentioned, including Dante's twin brother Vergil and their father, the Legendary Dark Knight Sparda. One of the rumored subtitles, Dance of Sparda, which was beleived to be a real title, has not been an officially-announced title according to IGN, and several rumours have speculated that the title may be a portable version of the first Devil May Cry. Most notably Gamespot.
There have been rumours that a Nintendo DS version of the title is also in development. While some variations of the rumour mentioned that the DS version was unrelated to the PSP release, it would supposedly featured gameplay similar to that of Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow. However, according to Capcom Japan, such a title has not been confirmed to be in production.
