Anyone know or played any little known games from Squaresoft or Enix that may have been overlooked or maybe were never brought stateside? Games that are mentionable.

Well there's this game that came out in 1994 called Live A Live. Alot of people say it was really good. The music was done by Yoko Shimomura. It supposedly had a good story and was told in chapters and you could play them in any order. According to alot of people it was a very unusual but good game by square that never made it over here.

was it an rpg?

yeah it was mainly an RPG but sometimes the chapters branched off into other things. That's all I know though

Threads of Fate is a fairly overshadowed RPG from Square. Not a lot of people have played it I dont think, but I'd like to.

well, there is another game released in 1996 called the Radical Dreamers. Serge was the lead character, a thief named Kid, and Magil a magician. It was a gaiden to Chrono Trigger. Well Serge and Kid returned in Chrono Cross as well as the plot where you were trying to break in to the mansion whre the Frozen Flame was...maybe it was sort of a setting up for chrono cross. Damn them...I really would have like to play this one.

Oh, I had fun finding out about that. Gil is actually Magus in that game btw, searching for Schala. Its one of the reasons people think that Guile from CC is Magus, because the name is a lot like Gil from Radical Dreamers. Also, in CC When in Chronopolis there is a quote or something from Radical Dreamers on one of the computers I think. And yeah, It was a kind of setup for CC but hardly anyone played it because it needed this weird add on thing fro the super Famicom which wasnt very popular at all, and I believe they stopped making them or something.

I didn't know it needed an add on...

too bad it wasn't more popular I would have loved to play it since I'm a huge CC fan. I didn't know that the magician was Magus. Thaks for the additional info...since I'll probably never play it. lol

Hmmmm okay...uhh...*picks brain* ewwwww lol

Treasure Hunter G was the last game put out by Square for the SNES(1996). It had a battle system that was unique. It was sort of like BOF Dragon Quarter as in the closer you moved to the enemy the more ACT you would use up and spells had ranges similar to that game too I guess...
Of course it was never released over here...

After ranting about Radical Dreamers I decided to look for a ROM of it again... And I found one, plus the jap->english Patch! WHEEE!! Its actually a pretty good game. Not so much an RPG, theres a lot of text and pictures and no real battles. When it was first released on the Super Famicom it was only available through Satellaview, an adaptor that plugs into the phone socket and lets you download games. There were only 6 games made for it as it was unpopular. RD was one of them, utilising Chrono Triggers storyline. Two other games for it include a racing game that uses the chrono trigger racing engine in 2300 AD, and another made use of its graphics and sprites as an RPG XD. Learn something new everyday, don'tcha?

there was also a game called Einhander. I don't know if that has been said or not.
