Did you know that the US owns 75% of the worlds money and could stop world hunger and get rid of all disease? Just sayin... If I were president of that country (even though I can't be) then I like that motive. What is money if the people who need it keep dying, and the people who want it keep getting more?
*sigh* Link, I know that you hate the fact that people preach but you have to be more patient with them. Our society is about the freedom to push others around, and they do just that. It's also about majority rules, so even though you feel one way, all the people who may or may not have a good idea for what is needed win... :'(

I see plenty of people who claim themselves to be christian and "sin" all the time but think they'll be fine because they beleive in "the one and only god". Meanwhile they preach at people who have good morals but don't believe in god or a different god or multiple gods telling them they are going to hell... >_< How cruel.

A lot of peole choose to be Atheists because they wanna do drugs and drink their life away for no good reason and not have any reproccutions. But no matter who you are or what you do, if you are an atheist then you have your own morals that you based off of the world around you. It usually depends on what kind of world you live in. I'm not telling anyone what an Atheist IS, I'm telling them what an Atheist HAS.

It isnt that easy to stop the world's hunger, manda. Politics is an infinite, intricate web that normal citizens of the US, much less other countries couldnt possibly comprehend. Franky, i dont want to comprehend it. Besides, no one "nice" enough to use money for that purpose, assuming they werent "coerced" by outside forces in office, wouldn ever be elected anyway.

Yes, but I'd try, unlike some presidents who just want to start wars and suck money of of people... >_<

So, you think IRaq would've been better, or was better, under Saddam's rule?

meh... I don't think it was our place to make that change. Not at the time we did it anyway. We could have at least got some backing from the UN on it so we didn't pay for 90% of the operation. It's costing us a ****load of money that could be spent on something a little better.... like education/research/buying me a copy of every game ever made/etc...

But, would we, or anyone, really have used the money to do that? I seriously doubt it. And the UN wouldnt even agree to do anything unless it posed them a direct threat.

please this is another instance where America pops its head in as the good old nation that just wants to be an asshole. The govt is so damn wishy washy. Give weapons to saddam, wait a while, claim saddam has wmds, go to war, fall on ass, wait a while, go to war again, win. Then try and justufy that saddam had things when there is no trace of anything. Be serious people. Bush went before a comission of the Un to explain why he invaded iraq. YES KEY TERM 'invade' and his reasoning ' We have found peopel in Iraq linked to the terrorit bombings.'

Lets break it down shall we
1) bomb the crap outa Afghanistan forcing mostly everyone to flee to neighbouring countries
2) declare then that Iraq is harbouring individuals that America wanted
3) go in and **** up Sadaam and Iraq WITHOUT approval.

am i the ony one that sees this as nothing more then a im gonna make daddy proud of me and grab the oil he couldnt?

Bush is a moron why couldnt he have shot himself in the foot while choking on that pretzel then walked ove to Iraq, camped out in the desert for one night and be devoured by a damn camel spider. I can wait for Bush to come here so i can unzip my pants and take a piss on that retarded ignoramus.

I always knew that, too. Bush just wants to succeed where his daddy failed. He wanted to look to good for the future and will attack innocent civilians to do it. Not calling Saddam or Osama innocent civilians, but look at who's dying out there!
Osama hasn't been the issue anymore, they've completely forgot about him, and why is Iraq still attacking the US? Saddam happens to be caught, remove the leader and the rest fall liek dominos, right? >_< I'm starting to think they're making it for the audience's amusement.

Bush Sr didn't fail. His goal, given to him by the UN was to liberate Kuaite from Iraqee control. He acomplished this task very well. Bush JR simply wanted to 1:get his paws on oil, 2:rebuild his popularity that he had durring the first months of the Afganistan conflict, 3:draw attention away from the nations problems that he was avoiding (economy, jobs, education, etc.)

btw, what does this have to do with religion? I might move this if it keeps on this track. Not complaining, just letting everyone know :D

you could just split the political discussion into a different thread...

That's what I planned, I figured I'd give this a few more posts and then split/move as needed

Btw, for future reference: If I, the admin, the owner, participate in off-topic discussion like this, then its safe to assume its ok. I allowed this off-topic discussion because its a good debate topic, lol.

I agree that this is a very good, intelligent debate, I just feel that it should be split and moved to politics.

~Splitting and Moving~

That and now I get to try something new!

Edit:Cool, I figured it out, now you get to figure out a new name for it, O.P.
