I just got done watching Cowboy Bebop. It was the episode about SCRATCH. In it the guy said that the worst invention mankind has ever made is television. It bombards people with information, controlling them. In fact television is like a new religion. I was wondering what everyone thinks of that.

I know that sometimes people quote sayings that actors from sitcoms or whatever have said so in a way maybe a crazy nut could base his religion from tv (Peter from FG with the Fonz). Also with tv we do hear a lot of stuff which we have to determine whether it is true or false. It does bombard us with so much information at once. That and some people watch tv all day almost. I don't watch tv all day but I use it a lot for tv shows I watch, anime, and video games. I mean it has been around for just over 50 years or so and I bet if someone took a survey about what is their favorite thing in their house or that they own they would say their tv.

I suppose that's really all I have to say at this time.

that was a very creepy episode, i never really understood it well. i do say sometimes reality is lost when whatching tv, you see it in kids, how frightened a show can make them or how involved they get into, bebop was clever to use a tv religon, first time ive seen anything like that. now in the ep were people really disappearing or were they getting so involved thats they just become mind controlled and lost in the tv. i remember the ep so vaguley since its been 2 years but i tried to remember it.
