that we all get told not to spam at times, and get in a bit of trouble but when a new member comes and spams, and we spam along with him, nothing is done...me thinsk that if theres going top be no spam rules..and the real members are going to get told to cut down or stop...then it should start when your a newb...like dont let the newbs do it when they are new..cause then they get use to it ..and its hard to stop lol...

Depending what your post is about. If the spam is in the welcome room, they are just post to welcome the member. Stuffs going on in spammy land is different of course.
And stuffs in gates of hell, as long as their are flames in it, it's fine I suppose. You don't expect every post in gates of hell to be posts fill with hatreds flaming the other members', do you?
And IMO, we should give new members more opportunity. Knowing that if they see that they get warned for spamming in here once or twice. Most likely they will start visiting this forum less and less. And quit bitching.

EF is more like a hang out for most of us. We're here to have fun. That's why we have out own forum, and unlike GW, we can hardly spam there. It's okay to spam now and then. As long as it doesn't get too...out of hand.

Like I've said before... the only spam that I actually warn for is an extreme case of it, for example: posting one word that has absolutely nothing to do with anything. Like in the middle of a conversation about Final Fantasy someone just posts "pepperoni!!!". That would get a warning. When the conversation deviates from the original topic it's no problem. On topic spam is no big deal. The only other spam warnings I ever issue is if someone does almost nothing but spam. Some of you may "spam" a lot, but it's not nearly as bad as it could be. As long as you use a little common sense when you post warnings will seldom be issued.

Laggy's got a good point, Yes or no on the spam, and what levels of spam are accepted, I won't be too bothered if we crack down on spam but poor Cacaw wouldn't barely post anymore (we still love you Cacaw). I'd guess that we need to decide, is this a cool hangout or a serious forum? Can't have both :(

I'm sure it's a hang-out kind of place. You're suppose to follow the rules here but not over do things. Spamming is the least thing the mods should worry about. Depending on what spam we are talking about.

kenny thats mostly cacaw that always says he's bored..the forum games are fun, and i wasnt asking you, i was just seeing how much spam we could do...now that lath has said what he has it seems that some of the things i didnt post because i didnt want to be warned..could have been posted...

im mostly just trying to get help as a mod,..us mods need to know when its really out of hand and should be closed. and now i get the point from lathan and knows this...so this thread isnt needed...

It's not just Cacaw, you say it as well. Asking people to post more because their are no actives threads, etc.
This thread needn't be closed. There may be another time where members will have the same question about forum rules.
And the only example of spam i've seen are the accounts posted Mangoose. You can close his threads and warn him for spam if those are your forum. If not then keep quiet and tell the mod of that forum about it. Ask for their opinion if it's spam or not. otherwise ask the administrator. And not bitch about it.

Lathan and kenny pretty much have it right. Spam is ok, as long as you keep it in moderation. The stuff over the past day may be a wee bit too much, but its not a big deal. I mean, so people spam. We're all having fun while doing it, and it isnt like it's the end of the world if people spam some. EF is here for discussion of games and real life, but it doesn't have to be some strict militaristic regime like Gw is.
