Really? I bought it for like $200...and it was discounted o.o It seems to work well because I have the Sims 2 and it runs without any slowdown or anything.

Stay away from ati cards with SE in the name. they are the crap versions of the cards that run just a little faster then their low end cards, they just use the name to try to sell them.

Well fucking shit. What would you know. Dell makes sure that you can't upgrade their systems by not being able to overide the bios system they have for their built in graphics card on their systems. So now I had to take back the card and wasn't able to use it. How fucking crappy. Dell sucks that they dont allow you to do anythign to their low end systems. SO this makes you have to buy a more expensive ssytem to be able to shit with it.

Alienware and Dell suck... Coulda saved yourself some time there.
I've been looking into getting an X700, like 150, but I gotta convince my dad to go half in with me, cuz I'm broke as a bitch nigga... I tend to stay away from geForce's, I use a 9200 right now... kinda sucks.

Should write a nasty letter to dell about how you can't put in new graphics cards in their cheaper pc's.

x600 pro are excellent cards especially for their price point. if you buy an ati cards for performance buy the cards that are above x600 such as x600, x600 pro, or x600xt but never buy the x600se. X700 are also nice cards for the price point.

you can put new graphics cards in dells. I've done it for some friends. You install the new card, go into your hardware settings in windows and disable the onboard video through there. very simple. should of just asked here before you took it back.

Actually my mother took it to work to get it disabled to install it but it wouldn't disable. THe guy that tried to disable it is a pc's expert and couldn't even do it for that. Maybe its just that the system that I have wasnt' capable of disabling its GC. Its a dell dimension 2400.

there is a few ways of doing it that he might of not thought of. Either way your best bet is to put the cash together and build a computer. $500 can get you a pretty decent computer. if you're young then I understand not having cash, but a part time job always pulls in enough cash to let you start having a little fun.
