I need help with FF9. I can't beat Gizmaluke and I have to beat the game before June 15th when I have to give it back to a friend. Need help desperately.

Get Zidane the The Ogre weapon, and use Soul Blade (to blind him). That'll blind Gizamaluke. Once he's blinded, he'll miss most of the time, thus taking pressure off of your party. Have Vivi cast Thunder on him, and Freya should Jump. IF you have Quina, have him use potions and heal; if not, have Vivi or Freya use them. Keep it up, and he shouldnt be too hard

Ok where do I get the Ogre Blade and how do I get it.

You can make it in the Lindblum Synthesis shop. I forget the actual weapons required though.

Uhoh thats a big problem because they won't let me back into Linblum. Now what do I do.

Well, if you cant go back to lindblum, all you can do is level up some, really, and hope for the best...

the ogre is 2 mage mashers 700 fee and mage masher = 500 each.

gizamaluke has about 2100 hp and 500mp so as lades said thunder, jump, heal and attack as thunder should do about 150-200.

And as for linblum have you tried going back through the serpent passage? cuz theres about 3 ways you can get in.

lol yeah that and one of the other gates should still be opend..well, i think there is anyway lol..i havnt played 9 in so long =/

well i know you go out viz cart and theres a guiy who sells stuff there if yu cant go in there there should be another entrance somewhere.

I think he's weak against Ice.. If I remember correctly.

nevermind... I was thinking about the Ice Staff that you can steal from him. You can also steal an Elixir, which would probably be useful for you.

No...i think he uses ice on you. At any rate, he's a water creature, and they're usually weak vs. lightning...

I don't think theres anyway back into Linblum because the guy at the gate said the city is on high security and all entries are sealed off. I might as well start the game over and remember what to do when I get to this point.

I guess you could... you're only 1/2 through disc 1.

1/2? Dont you go through Gizamaluke's grotto into Burmecia, then its the end of disc 1?

nope start of disc 2 is the outer continent, still have cleyra and the underground passage to go.

well... maybe 3/4 or something. you can't be more than 5 hours or so into it... it's either that or spend a few hours leveling up.

I think I will just start over because I need the Ogre Blade and it would proably waste time to try and level up.

not really. you can never level up too much. :D I think there is an Ogre blade in a chest in Burmecia somewhere, so it's not like you'll completely miss it. Just gain 2 or 3 levels with everyone and you'll probably be alright.

Uhoh...umm I just went to try and level up my charecters to see if I could beat him and see if it is popintless and I should start over. My data went corrput on the memory card for ff9 so it looks like I will have to start over again.

well that sucks =/.....i'd get a new card before starting over if that was me, cause i wouldnt like to start over and then have to restart over again...lol

Actually my PS2 memory card does it too. I think I might have accidentally turned the game off the other night while saving but turned the system off too early and that sometimes causes corrupt data.

thats why i have 4 memory cards lol can never be too careful...infact mine screwed up doing the mognet central sidequest...that pissed me right off.

I never did that sidequest. I opened the place up, but I didn't care about delivering mail to a bunch of moogles. What do you get for doing it?
