Whats your opinion of reality TV?

Personally, i think it got old after the first Survivor. The only show i can tolerate is American Idol, and thats only because it actually finds people with good talent and helps then get a start. OTher than that, whenever i hear the title of "reality show" i cringe >_<

I liked Survior for a while.. and Fear Factor was cool for a bit. But other than that.. I groan everytime I hear of the newest reality tv shows. I would much rather see something with a plot than unscripted jabber they put on.

Well, I do like watching the tryouts for american idol...those are just funny...but that's it.

I'm really getting tired of reality TV, it seems sometimes that they really don't even try to come with anything. They just slap the title reality show on it and let it go. I agree with OP about American Idol, I don't watch it, but at least they do give someone who's struggling a chance to make it.

I am a self-admitted reality junkie. I love the competative reality shows, but I despise the romance reality shows. Let's see... I watch: Survivor, Big Brother, The Amazing Race, The Mole, The Apprentice, and the Real World/Road Rules challenges. I hate shows like The Bachlor and For Love or Money.

The main reason I hear from people on why they hate reality shows is that they aren't really real. So, if they were called... "extended game shows", then you'd like them? I don't care if people don't like the shows, but the excuse that they aren't really real doesn't seem to be a very good one.
