More meth labs busted
Three more suspected methamphetamine labs were taken down in homes in El Paso County.
Thursday a man and a woman were arrested for allegedly making meth on Hallam Avenue in Security. The woman's 2 ½-year old child was inside when SWAT raided the house. The child was taken to the hospital to be checked out.
The two suspects had to be decontaminated before they could be taken to county jail. That's because investigators say the components used to make meth can be very dangerous, even if just inhaled. Many of the chemicals used like toluene and acetone are extremely dangerous..
Sergeant Terry Curry of the El Paso County Sheriff's Office explains, "As my first indication there was something very acidic. It burned through 2 pairs of gloves on my detectives. Everything here is flammable, throw a match to it and you have a large explosion or fire."
In a second house on Sherwood Lane in Stratmoore Hills, authorities found that unknown substance that burned through the gloves, along with a number of other chemicals used to make meth, possibly including thousands of dollars in ice, a pure form of meth.
It was raided about the same time of the other one. There are four possible suspects, including a 16- year old girl. Authorities say these two suspected labs are related, but they're not saying how.
So far this year Metro VNI has taken down 10 labs in El Paso and Teller Counties. Six of them have had children inside.

This event happened almost right next to the school of an online friend, lol. The school had to go into an actual lockdown (not just a drill). Just thought it was interesting =/
