What games that you've played have you really liked, but no one else you know seems to like it much?
The ones I can think of immediately are:
-FF9 (I know some people like it, but the majority don't)
-BoF: Dragon Quarter (Its addictive...dunno why o.o)
-SaGa Frontier 2 (I know a couple people who like it, but thats it)
Rainbow Dash

I liked Unlimited Saga, but you people are calling it the worst RPG of all time here...

i am pretty much the only one who plays RPGs around here so pretty much any RPGs....

Hm. Off the top of my head.
x Harvest Moon: Back To Nature
x Batman Begins
x Just about any of the Game Boy Pokemon games.
x Magination
x Final Fantasy IX
x Shadow of Destiny
x Silent Hill 2
x Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Chaos Bleeds
More to come, probably, with more thinking.

-Disgaea (it was out forever before I bought and played it. krystle had it for months and I just watched her play it before i even got interested)
-FFXI (I played it for about 4 months not accomplishing anything before I really started playing a lot)

I agree with Lades about Dragon Quarter. The only other one I can think of at the moment is Altelier Iris. I've heard some people calling it mediocre but I thought it was a very good game.
I like Indigo Prophecy, and everyone I know hasn't even heard of it.

That game is cool, from what ive played of it.
*unlimited saga
*judge dread
*nba street volume 3 (everyone i know likes 1 and 2 better and they would rather play those two any day other than 3)
theres alot more i just cant think of them right now.

Lath, I meant sleeper hits to YOU, not actual ones. From what I've heard, I'm pretty sure a lot of your friends liked Disgaea, or at least the online ones >.>

Shin Megami Tensei - Lucifer's Call (known in NTSC Land as Nocturne). So succesful on the RPG underground, they've decided to release Digital Devil Saga in January. The critics raved about it, but hardly anyone plays it. It's become one of my most favourite games, next to Suikoden 2 and FF6/7/8.
Rainbow Dash

Dark Cloud Series
I beg to differ, I think it is given TOO much credit. Its fighting and level system are unmatched, but the characters are ridiculously bland and the story has lots of plot loops (at least in Dark Cloud 2, the only one I played)
Freedom Fighters
Freedom Fighters is fuckin' AWESOME!

I'll actually go with Ephemeral Fantasia...I never hear people say it's lame but I never hear anyone mention it I have heard someone say it's "So-So" I think that was an old school friend...I'm not too sure. But that game is awesome it's the most fun I've had playing a game in a long time.
I don't really know about anything else..

Well it's sort of changing but I'm going to put it down anyway...Valkyrie Profile. I went nuts for the longest time trying to find other people who had played this game so we could talk about it. Now people regret not buying it when it came out and are scouring ebay.

yeah, I liked that game. I especialy liked playing the guitar. I haven't gotten very far cause I got stuck and kind of gave up... :/
I think Beyond Good and Evil was very good and all my friends said it was stupid but I liked it alot. I have to say I've played through it a few times.

Record of Lodoss War - A really good, but I haven't seen too many people even say that the've even heard of it.
FF10-2 - Not very many people like it, I did.
Sudeki - A good game, its X-box so hardly anyone's played it.
Skies of Arcadia - I didn't know it existed until recently, great game, IMO.

Are you crazy. They were mega hits in Japan
Metal arms: Gkitch in the system was really good and only one person I know has it. Crash Nitro Kart probably. I didn't like it and I don't think alot of people bought it. And a dogs life. I kinda had wanted to play it but I couldn't find it anywhere which may have been kinda good cos I heard it was crap

I thought Advance Wars was a surprise hit for the GBA and also LOZ:Wind Waker, not many people thought it would be a great game but sure nuff it was and also Luigi's Mansion. Same scenario as WW
Vanguard Bandits, loved that game. The Romance series too but nowadays it's more well known thanks to the billions of Dynasty Warrior games.

All my friends that are aware of it, I introduced to it.

Which unlike you apprently, that is the main thing I look for in a game. Storyline is nice, but I play games for playing them, if I want stories I'll read a book or watch a movie.

Yeah, I've never wanted to call it an RPG. Its a Hell of an addicting action game though. Character development is hardly needed the way they set the game up.

Well both games take nearly 100 hours to beat. I've beaten the first one 3 times (only went through the ungodly sized Demon Shaft once though) and the second one four times and I've got a file near the end of it now.
So yeah...I'd say so.

If you consider it an action game, then it is great, but if its consider an RPG, then it really is lacking in some key elements. Its like Zelda, which I know you like too.

Its not lacking in nearly as many elements as Zelda games. I'm a veteran of both series, and I must say that Zelda is much less RPg-like than either DC game. Though obviously, DC is not in the same class of RPG as games like Final Fantasy, or Suikoden. Its an action RPG, like Kingdom Hearts.

Come after Xmas, I'm going to scour ebay for that one. It wasn't released on PAL, so I''ll prolly have to go for an international seller (god, they take so fucking LONG!) or just be really lucky and come across it.

Parasite eve 2. Alot of critics bitched it was a survival-horror wannabe game, yet it easily kicked the shit out of silent hill or any of the resident evils at the time. Aya could use psychic powers yet despite being a cut above an average human as the character you played, the game still enstilled alot of terrifying moments and a very tension filled atmosphere.
I'm glad I purchased it instead of listening to the boos and snickers it got.

Well...
Valkyrie Profile - I don't know a single person offline that's played it, but it's so fucking awesome. About the only qualm I had with it is Lenneth's artwork, which doesn't seem to fit her voice or personality at all.
Saga Frontier 2 - Haven't finished it yet, but it's completely addicting. Also don't know anybody offline that's played it.
Parasite Eve - Fun. Not much else to say.
Romancing Saga - It just came out, but nobody seems to be paying attention to it because of the unholy failure that was Unlimited Saga. Those that have played it don't seem to like it because, well, it's a Saga game, which works for me.
Shadow Hearts - Nobody seems to care about the first one, which baffles me.
Ninja: Gaiden - I only know of one person online or off that's played this one, but it's definitely the best action game I've ever played.
Sudeki - Wasn't a great game, but it had a very fun battle system.
All I can think of at the moment.

and i dont know if anyone likes it, infact i dont know how many has played it but one of my fav games was Zombies Ate My Neighbors.
Zombies Ate My Neighbors used to be my favorite game growing up. Almost everyone in my family played it, and it was actually one of the only games I played that I found really challenging.
Hmm...
My picks:
Startropics - Great game, but there aren't many people offline OR online that I know that has played it.
Star Ocean - The very first one. A really good game, but not many people I know have played it...but then again, it wasn't released out of Japan so yeah...
Shadowrun (SNES version) - Another fun game, but I don't know of anyone offline that has played it and only a few online.
Revelations: The Demon Slayer - Part of the Persona/Shin Megami Tensei series, but no one I know of has played it. It's a very short game for the Gameboy Color...but I still enjoyed it a lot.

Of course I know what star tropics is.....It was like legend of Zelda only done with better graphics and more stuff. It was an rpg about a boy living with his father on a series of tropical islands and you travelled around using an experimental high tech sub marine. There was some sort of "mystery" but i cannot remember what it was other than it might have dealt with your father's research. The yo yo was one of your first weapons I think.

It had to do with aliens or something. I've been meaning to replay it someday though.

Star Wars Episode III-Short, repetitive but some how so damn fun to play over and over again.
The Warriors- Got a good review, and is not just another brawler. This game is so damn fun and long.

I never would have taken you for a Gaiden player. That was one hell of a game. I've never had my ass handed to me that much in a video game...

I never would have taken you for a Gaiden player. That was one hell of a game. I've never had my ass handed to me that much in a video game...Only the past few months, and I haven't finished it yet. I didn't know anyone who'd played it, so I didn't have anyone to recommend it to me.
The game's difficulty is bizarre. I can fight the same group in the same environment using the same techniques eight times in a row, and I'd end up with eight completely different outcomes. I've gotten stuck on bosses for hours on end, and when I finally beat them (usually almost flawlessly), I can't name a single thing that actually happened differently.
About the only major qualm I've had with the game so far was the military base. That was so boring.

If you can get your hands on a nes emulator and the 3 ninja gaiden roms it's well worth it if you're looking for games with a steep challenge and decent story-line. They don't seem to follow the X-box exploits of Ryu, but they're good none the less.
Speaking of sleeper hits Blood Rayne 2 was better then I thought it would be. They poured more into the storyline and the physics were based very closely off prince of persia and Devil may cry that made it fun slicing through the hordes of faux goth-vampire wannabe thugs. I think if they based the game more on a vast post apcolyptic atmosphere with Gta's deceptive rpg action fused fully "free to explore" enviorments and less on tits and ass it would have soared higher still.
The first game only held my interest the first time through then I gave it to a friend. Killing psychotic Nazi scentists and demon parasites was fun, but you can only play through the same bland boring level designs so many times before something has to give.

FF9 was a bit under appreciated...I even like it more then FF7. I suppose it's the fact they included all the nastalgic touches that made it an obivous final fantasy game.
The two recent PS-2 3d castlevanias + the n64 one Legacy of darkness seem to get punted harsh by critics even though they have many of the touches that make 3d action plat formers fun.
