I would like to ask if anyone has ever read this book,
by Peruvian writer Mario Vargas Llosa....
The classic is a look into a boy's life in a famous military academy in Peru, with the undergrounds and cliches that parallel the corruption in the real world.
I read this book long ago, and saw it's adaption to movie ( in spanish ) and was struck by it's extremly dark and somber atmosphere. I was myself in such a school and raised early on that way, but his story is truly something that has long since stayed in the past.
So if anyone has read the story, or seen the movie ( I actually found it in the library once ) - I'd be interested in a discussion of it's issues....
