Well to start off, early this morning one of my friends was taken to the hospital for a kidney stone... Thing is, after he got there, they found a place on one of his lungs. He doesn't know if the spot is anything or not. But just say a little prayer or keep him in your thoughts or something... it'd be much appreciated.

That is not at all needed here. If you don't want to mention God in your post, then don't. You don't need to add in the snide remark "if there was a God," unless of course you're just trying to make controversy. Though I don't see how you expected someone like me to react to seeing that. If you want to respond to prayer requests, but don't believe in God say something along the lines of "I'll keep him in my thoughts." Or "he'll be on my mind."

I really hope that your friend will be alright. He'll be in my thoughts and prayers. Stay optimistic, believe that things will be alright (note that I don't mean not to worry or that there's any guarentee), and things become more tolerable.
