Thats right, yours truely is juror #73 tommorow morning, what does this mean? According to the govt and the justice system an opportunity to pry people away from their lives throw out threats of fines and jail time and an excuse to charge below legal wages to compensate. So because a buncha twats cant resolve their differences with fisticuffs, they want moi to get up in the wee hours of the morning during winter, navigate the fucking pathetic transport system of many cancelled and late trains and put up with 7 hours of sitting on my ass listening to bullshit and some bitchfest when the easiest solution would be for them to shut the fuck up.

Now im posting this because im bored, i dotn care that im being hypocritical, anyone who wants to do jury service good for you, anyone who wants to bitch back at my post thats great you can get on your knees and start sucking.

I do so hope that the govt and justice system regret their decision to even contemplate making me a juror and i hope that if i do get put on a case that the other jurors agree to a few beheadings.

damn that freakin sucks dude. I've avoided jury duty so far :) If they were to put me on a case, there would be hell :) it'd be a hung jury everytime. everyone would say guilty and i'll say not guilty just to piss everyone off :)

I actually look foward to doing that, as long as its not some minor claims thing. You actually get paid for that?

you do... but it isn't much.

I haven't been summoned for jury duty either... and I never will be.

Big deal...

Its a requirement of being a citizen, no one likes it, but you can deal with it.

it turns out to roughly $4.12 aussie $ per hour, and considering minimum wage is something like $5.45 for a 15 year old then yeah for a 20 year old who fetches roughly $10+ an hour you can see the numbers dont add up.

And chances are high that its a small claims case if anything.

Yeah, that's pretty crappy pay. I mean, that's a little more than $28 for working hours. Actually, that's shit pay if you're getting $10 an hour.

If they payed you more 'twould be OK, but no - can't you say you have to go to the funeral of some distant relative or something, or do you HAVE to do jury duty?

no it isn't. it's a requirement for registered voters.

I'd hardly expect you to make a thread in this forum if you expected any sucking.

For the most part its the same thing, and my point still holds up either way.

Well, I don't know how jury duty eligibility works in australia, but I do know voting is mandatory there, or at least thats what I've always heard.

nah, they'd check into it, and if they found out you were skipping, you would go to jail, and have a fine

Dammit.

Have random people pose as rellies (:P) and pay them afterwards.

Sorry Nabs - it's sounds final. Hey, at least you can bitch here afterwards.
