being brought back to my nastalgic first days of gaming i have to wonder...what were japanese programmers tripping on when they made mario bros? think about it...you're two italian plumbers going through pipes while battling carnivorous plants and flying turtles. you eat mushrooms to get bigger and you eat flowers to shoot fireballs. to me there is an indirect reference to doing acid and shrooms "hey mario if we eat this mushroom we'll get bigger dude!" really that some good **** luigi...hey man check it i got this acid paper **** with red flowers on it...i bet we'd be able to shoot fire man! " "hey bro check it! it's a flashing star...i bet if we get it we become invincible!" "you sure you not trippin man? i don't see no star!" "you will if you eat the shroom then eat the flower acid paper!" i mean seriously mario has some trippy psychedelic things...heck in mario 3 an angry sun will even chase you....don't even get me started on some of the level designs..lol.

i agree vyers. mario bros. 2 is like one big trip...it's like the movie fear and loathing in las vegas mixed with chich and chong only made cuter . the enemies in it were wacked out from the jar snakes,to this pink hippos that shoot eggs from their mouths,all the way to the mask waring shy guys. i mean no other games seem as warped as mario bros...

Mario: ah i was waiting for that to come out of your moustached elongated face. First you cue the theme song like i did at the beginning of the show. Second you run around for a bit until you find a mushroom. Not just any mushroom either a magic one that moves by itself.
Luigi: WOW thats amazing
Mario: isnt it. Third you eat the mushroom, dont bother about washing it, extra flavour. Then in an instant you are one of the mario gang and 3 times your normal size.
Luigi: but if this causes you to see monsters why are we teaching little kids this?
Mario: well see this is hell, i mean how many times do you think my fat head gets stuck in the pipes for while you slide right down them? Im asking the kids in here so i dont have to wait days for you to grab the plunger and so i dont stare at the same plumberscrack all day long.
Luigi: oh...i see now.
Mario: BUT as an added bonus you get a sexy princess at the end of the mushroom bridge, i mean what a great deal.
Mariio & Luigi: well thats all we have time for now folks, next time visit us in Mario Bros 69: The pot of doom. Where w eteach you how to smoke a bong and chase little fluffy elephants like that adorable dumbo.
