Rhapsodia, a Suikoden SRPG
Breaking news of a new Strategy RPG by Konami has been surfacing at various Suikoden fan sites (both in Japan and internationally) at this moment. There still is NO official word from Konami as of yet, but the article in question is from a Shonen Jump Game Info section. This news topic is now being discussed at our forums.
We are still waiting for the official word from Konami.

Now that's what I've been waiting to hear for a while. Since its taking Konami so long to deny it, it's true...

Back in April, Konami filed a trademark in the U.S. Patent and Trademark office for the name "Suikoden Tactics" which, needless to say, was a possible precursor to a strategy RPG based on the Suikoden series. Today, Konami confirmed that such a title is indeed in the works for the PlayStation 2, though its title differs from the one trademarked in the days leading up to E3.
Given the moniker Rhapsodia, the title will be based on the timeframe and world of Suikoden IV. The stars of the show are a young man named Kyril, and his friends Seneca and Andarc. The purpose of their fellowship is to track down and destroy the giant Rune Cannons that threaten the peace of the world. Other than the aforementioned characters, it seems as if characters from Suikoden IV will be making cameo appearances.
Other than the story, little is known about the title, but it does seem as if "Rune" magic will be present in the game's battle system. Take a look at the article that spawned these details by clicking here.
Rhapsodia is looking to be released in Japan this fall. If this game were to be released in Japan only, it wouldn't be the first time a Suikoden spin-off had been kept from gamers abroad, so it's hard to say whether or not it will sail across the ocean as of yet.Apparently a day makes a lot of difference. =/

Its just based on the same time period, it probably will take place over in Tinto or something.

What seems to be screenshots show Kika, and it's about Rune Cannons. I assume it's around the same location.

Hey, if Rhapsodia could flesh out the characters like how Suikogaiden did for Suikoden 2, I would be happy.

That's what I was going to say. I have a feeling that storywise it will be like Suikogaiden....weaving in and out of Suikoden IV.
I'm also loving the fact that it's a strategy rpg.
